Use a line of three metres in length on the chest harness for the exercise. In this method, the leash should hang only once loosely between dog and handler. It is important that your dog no longer pulls on the leash, the dog to build a reference to his dog. Talk to the dog before going to go and praise when the dog remains. Here, the dog on one side of the vaccinations should are accustomed to. Then also the treats are hidden in the bag on this page. Alternatively, you can use also a Hüftbeutel for the mid for the bilateral exercise.

If the dog remains on its side on the holder there are always a treat. The dog starts to pull, it stops without comment. Try to get back the attention of the dog and pull short and easily on a leash or change your position to the dog. The line is loose again, change the direction of rotation and proceed without reward. Otherwise, you get a dog who is a fun drag and stop, because he gets a treat for this.

Highest attention is needed for the training. Therefore try to find a private place of exercise, where no distraction is possible. Also, you should incorporate constant changes of direction in the practice session. Practice alone, so, where neither road nor other dogs are a distraction at best in an area cordoned-off. If you train on a lawn or in the garden, save yourself the treat at the end of the practice session and linen your dog off. This is often the best reward for the dog, which had to work through many commands and often work against his natural instincts.

Why take dogs on the leash so?

Dogs drag for quite different reasons. The hunting instinct is the most common motivation. While the dog perceives very intensively the smell from his environment, in which he breathes heavily. Often, dogs but also from a sexual motivation draw out by they sniff gently such as urine in the grass or trees. Other dogs pull again, because they have a high rank compared to the dog owners in the Pack. Dogs, whose body language is directed forward and dominant, moving ahead sharply raised rod, feel responsible for the backup of the area often. Some dogs show a protective instinct but their people. Dog owners often report that exactly the same dog is often better foot, if he is not on a leash. If he moves ahead, the dog feels that his man back attached, and can take better care of the area. If no line in the game is, the dog must remain close to the people, so that he does not lose control of it. Pulling on the leash but also just learned behavior is often.

Dog pulling on the leash. Which line is the right one?

Active and trained dogs can deal well with long lines. Then the leash for dogs can go ever have 7 meters. This is a comfortable length for attentive dog owners with active dogs. Who somewhat relaxed wants to have it on the road, the ranges also the 5 meter line for medium-sized dogs. However, it is then quickly to short the dog on the lawn. The Leinesollte definitely have a minimum length of three metres so that the dog has enough movement in dogs. Flexi lines are rather less suitable to raising dogs, because the dog always has a different distance from the dog owner and has not the necessary attention.

Dog leashes overview

Complete lines

There's dogs running lines made of different materials such as durable nylon. The nylon material is extremely robst and tear-resistant and withstands even larger loads. Through the rubber lining slips the leash not by the hand of what is beneficial especially in dogs that need some linen training,. When it rains, a cord made nylon remains more grippy. Linen nylon can be washed at 30 degrees.

Shock absorber

Shock absorbers are excellent for young dogs and very active dogs that jump like in the line or strong pull on the leash. You linen are usually made of nylon and have a built-in elastic band. Sudden pulling of the dog is caught, and thus protects the joints of vaccinations and of the dog. The back line is simply attached between the collar and the leash. The leash is useful when one has the dog when riding a bike or in airliners.

Flexileinen - winding lines

The most purchased lines are the Flexileinen with the practical automatic rolling up the line if necessary. A knob or slider on the line releases the line or blocked the rolling up. So, you can comfortably at the traffic lights keep the dog, and then release the line on train. It grinds the line not on the ground, but remains thanks to the built-in spring to train. To save themselves so the constant lifting and looping a leash as in fixed lines.

Extension lines

Extension lines for dogs have usually snap at both ends and are made of robust material. A common size is 2 metres. You must ensure that this part of the line will be never flexible and you can bring the dog with a leash to be more difficult.

Towline

Towing cords are for dogs 5 to 20 meters long. Since these lines be moved much by dirt or water, the lines should be especially durable and stain-resistant steel. Also, the lines should tend not to the nodule formation or easily get caught up in the undergrowth. Mildew, UV light, and bacteria should not harm also the material. In young dogs, the tow line can be a good tool for dog training. Also about barreled bitches or training against the hunting instinct she can be useful. Some breeds have naturally a strong hunting instinct. With a long leash just a relaxing time on the dog park or forest walking.

Short leash

The short leash dogs is typically only 1 meter long and not flexible. Where a leash for the dog owner, and at the other end is a snap for E.g. the collar of the dog at one end. A 1-meter offered leash when the dog only rarely must be on a leash. For example, for exercises on the dog training area or in the city. The line is light and so small that she can be easily transported in the Pocket.

Hunting lines

Hunting lines are similar to troll. You should be also especially durable and stain-resistant steel. Also, the lines should tend not to the nodule formation or easily get caught up in the undergrowth. The rope is not hard and stuck almost anywhere. Mildew, UV light, and bacteria should not harm also the material. In addition, hunting lines are often buoyant, so that the dog is supported also at work in the water.

Demo lines

Dogs screening lines are offered in many colors. There is also a variable controller for the neck circumference. Individual components such as the carbine or the control of the leash are gold-plated or chrome-plated. Since the line of less follows a practical purpose it is often braided and small stones decorated with Rhinestones. Other lines are made of genuine leather, chrome-plated or other materials without decoration.

Swimming lines

Swim are similar to troll or hunting lines. You should be also especially durable and stain-resistant steel. Also, the lines should tend not to the nodule formation or easily get caught up in the undergrowth. The line should stay are not hard in the water and hang anywhere. Mildew, UV light, and bacteria should not harm also the floating line. A floating line is floating, flexible and robust material, so that the dog at work in the water is not impeded by the leash.

Let dog leash walking

This can be used already the subsequent drive of the puppy at the puppy age. Let the puppies from the outset without a leash. When one is in field, forest or other free-wheeling area, then let go quietly without a leash the puppy, when there is always no danger from outside. The puppy will comply with its natural consequence drive up to the age of 4 months and always pay attention for his master.

It is important that you from the outset the dog owners based on the puppies can be and not vice versa. So it is sure that he is always alert for commands. Is one too careful as a puppy owner can take the revenge. The puppy learns that his holder follows him and he can follow more or less all his other drives without commands.

Without a leash with Dogs Puppies

  • Quiet times run a piece of the puppies. Try along the way and play with a few sticks and plants. Act calmly.
  • Use call commands sparingly
  • Not constantly running to! Stay relaxed and bide my time. The puppy will survive it and also not be lost.
  • After a few exercises, he becomes attentive and check if the master or mistress is still there and this is the moment you call, and reward.
  • So, he learns that it is worthwhile to check again whether he is not alone.
  • If he very long does not pay attention to you, you may remove yourself slowly by him. Watch the puppies from the eye. He should notice that you you remove and then run, then praise and reward him.
  • It interests him not, then hide. If there is nothing to hide, then you make small and remain motionless
  • By now, your puppy will be worried. He is based in the wrong direction, you may call once. Otherwise, you can let a little looking for him until he finds his master or mistress. The next time he better be careful then sure.

Without a leash with the young puppy or adult dog

Can you run boy or adult dogs without a leash, when they have mastered a few basic commands: "Here" or "On foot". Only if the dog dominates this, he is ready for it.

Command "At foot" as a prerequisite

After you have decided for a page, how, the dog with you to walk, take the right position first. You stand still, and the dog should be left next to you make "Seat". If you want to take the first step, say "Foot" clearly and move slowly forward. If the dog follows, he gets a reward. The treat should come from the left pocket, when he goes left. Just so the dogs can remember better that at the command of "Foot" first the right side must select and then as a reward get a treat. Repeat the exercises multiple times.

Following some rules for dogs without a leash

Callback command "Here"

If road users, children, or wild animals in the forest crossing the path, the dog may just Chase! He must hear if you call him back with the command "Here". Practice only in your private area, and then with external stimuli on the road. When he comes, give him a signal that he should remember for other commands. Whenever the beep, he knows that "to come". Only when the dog understands the connection between action and signal, skip to the next step with stronger stimulus situations.

Start command "Go" or "Run"

Before the dog can run freely, he must know a start signal. If you detach the hooks from the line and give the command "Run" with a hand motion, the dog understands that he must move and walk in the Freehub can begin. Then but not wild run your dog without rules, but give him direction and call him and in combination with a reward.

Practice and drain lines

To move the exchange between the on and the off lines with specific events in context, you can use this easy again and again between the game tasks and reward. This helps E.g. a simple retrieving exercise in conjunction with the lines on.

Retrieving with the tow line

You can practice at home when it rains outside. As a dog owner, you can view the dog that the leash is something positive. Take the leash and call the dog leash him. After that play, romp or cuddle with him. To practice a long towline suitable, because they give the dog a larger radius, but have it nonetheless still well under control. The towline is the optimal tool to search and retrieve exercises and track training right to practice. When using tow lines, the dog should wear a joints harness.

Without a leash use dog meadows

In the city, there's free-wheeling area so that you can offer your dog the freewheel. It can play every dog and other dogs to exercise the social behavior. Some dogs are stressed, when you are exposed to the freewheel and want to dominate other Gibbons. From a relaxed game, nothing is here to see, because the dogs initially don't know themselves and can thus also not mutually assess. Look at your dog and his body language that he has during of the freewheel. If he shows signs that it is him too much, sets his ears or bends his back, you should intervene and leash him.

Do not underestimate the dogs hunting instinct

Many dog breeds have a pronounced hunting behavior. For them, the Freewheel is a hunting trip with tracking of traces of, digging browse moles or mice and in the bushes. If the dog wants to run away after a time, and then calls the dog owner, the Freewheel is however much more exciting and interesting to pursue as the desire of the mistress or master. Solution: You need an employment alternative to the Jagdvergalten. Such as the favorite toys can hide and look for the dog. Different games enrich the freewheeling times, so that it is varied for both sides.

Pay attention to point of view and earshot

When the freewheel that the dog may remove only so far, having him in the field of view. Because, if they can no longer have it in mind or listen, you lose the influence on the dog park 100 metres radius are ok and in the dense forest more 10 to 20 meters.

Modelle gibts einige dazu. Bei uns im Reitsportladen.

GLG  Neela
